The political leader expressed his displeasure over what he termed as a complete erasure of citizens’ fundamental right to express dissent within a democratic framework.

Through his official social media platform, the Chief Minister characterized the police conduct as a direct attack on democratic freedoms. He emphasized that the Congress party continues to advocate on behalf of the nation’s younger generation, urging the central administration to maintain accountability in its governance approach.

The political gathering had been organized by the Congress party outside the Prime Minister’s residence to voice opposition against the lathi charge deployed against demonstrators. During this event, law enforcement personnel forcefully pulled Rahul Gandhi away from the venue, resulting in visible injuries to the Congress leader.

Video footage and photographs captured during the incident clearly showed blood flowing from Gandhi’s nose. Despite these visible wounds, police officers continued to hold his arms and legs firmly while escorting him toward a police van. Additional injuries were noted on his face near the eye area and on one of his hands.

Congress workers expressed outrage over the treatment meted out to their leader. They pointed out that the authorities showed little concern for his injuries while dragging him away. The Chief Minister further addressed the central government through social media, asserting that while officials may imprison or attempt to suppress dissent, they cannot quell the collective anger of millions of young Indians fighting for justice and accountability.
